Important Note: While we report buck-to-doe ratios, what we're actually measuring is buck-to-antlerless deer. From aerial thermal imaging, it's scientifically impossible to distinguish does from fawns — we can only identify bucks by their antlers. This is the most defensible ratio possible without tagging animals, and it's the metric serious land managers use for decision-making.
